The Polish Folklore Ensemble ‘Tatry’ Adelaide, founded in 1958, is one of Australia’s largest and longest-running Polish ensembles.
With over 100 members, including dancers, teachers, costume helpers, committee members, and volunteers of all ages, Tatry aims to celebrate and preserve Poland’s vibrant cultural heritage.
Throughout the year, Tatry’s junior and senior groups showcase a rich repertoire of traditional Polish music and dances, most notably at an annual gala event that takes place mid-year at the Dom Polski Centre.
Tatry also enjoys performing nationwide at ‘PolArt’ and other festivals, and has represented Australia at international folkloric festivals in Poland.
Rehearsals take place every Tuesday night (we have a saying in Tatry, “Tuesday night is Tatry night!”) where members get together to work towards the next concert or event, to learn new dances, socialise, and enjoy keeping the Polish spirit alive.
Tatry is a self-supporting organisation run by a passionate committee of volunteers. We warmly welcome new members of all ages, both dancers and non-dancers, to join our vibrant community and help keep Tatry thriving. There’s truly something for everyone in our wonderful group!
